Launch of the Movement
Annadata Organic Food Festival; arranged at the Bhimthadi Jatra – Pune between 22 and 25 December 2017 was the launch event of the Annadata – Safe food movement. The event brought together over 350 Farmers (via 45 groups) and 20 suppliers in Pune and reached to over 3.5 Lacs consumers.
Safe food movement is an effort to switch to cleaner practices, zero use of toxic chemicals and make farm produce more healthy for the consumer. It is an urgent need of the hour to halt the ill-effects of hyper commercialisation. This envisages education at all levels – farm, market and consumer.
Annadata Safe Food Movement Highlights

● In Dec 2024, launched the documentary “Vinchruni che Gandhi”
on the life journey of a veteran farmer and Nature Conservationist Babulal Gandhi ji, who worked with Shri Vinoba Bhave during Bhoodan movement.
The film was produced by Annadata Team members Seema and Geeta tai, directed by Aproop Productions.
Screenings done across Maharashtra, with Safe food and farmer connect conversations.

- ● Initiated Tribal youth fellowship programs in the farms.
- ● Worked with holistic Sustainable Models, Cow based Economy, and traditional education (Gurukul) at Anaadi Foundation, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.
- ● Interacted with next-gen children about Sustainability, Agriculture, and Traditional Knowledge at Rajkot, Gujarat.
- ● Facilitated ‘Manthan Meets’ with change makers in Wardha, Pune, Dapoli, and Bhopal for non-exploitative living discussions.
- ● Weekly Farmers Market and Sustainable Living sessions at NIN Pune and Annadata Pashan Center.
- ● Hosted various Community and Consumer Connect Events at Annadata Center, Pashan, Pune.
